 | Bestimmung der Art und des Umfangs der benötigten Information: The information literate student determines the nature and extent of the information needed. |
| Wirksame und effiziente Suche: The information literate student accesses needed information effectively and efficiently. |
| Kritische Analyse von Suchergebnissen; Einordnung im eigenen Wissen und Wertesystem: The information literate student evaluates information and its sources critically and incorporates selected information into his or her knowledge base and value system. |
| Effektiver Einsatz von gefundenen Informationen: The information literate student uses information effectively to accomplish a specific purpose – individually or as a member of a group. |
| Einsicht in wirtschaftliche, rechtliche und soziale Implikationen; ethisch und rechtlich adäquate Verwendung gefundener Informationen: The information literate student understands many of the economic, legal, and social issues surrounding the use of information and accesses and uses information ethically and legally. |
Jeder der fünf aufgeführten Information-Literacy-Standards ist seinerseits aufgefächert in Leistungsindikatoren (Performance Indicators). Diese werden wiederum heruntergebrochen auf ein Bündel von beobachtbaren bzw. überprüfbaren Verhaltensweisen (Outcomes).
